I first found out about Modest Gown Rental with a google search so kudos for them for ranking well! I was looking for a bridal shop that would let me use their dresses for styled shoots in exchange for photos for their own marketing. I saw the word “modest” and loved the idea since the bridal shop I went to didnt have a single wedding dress with sleeves. My husband’s one request about the dress was that it had sleeves. I bought my favorite princess dress and added sleeves on my own-very amateur. Modest Wedding and Prom has SO many options and if they don’t have it in the store they will order it for you! They carry wedding dresses, LDS temple dresses, prom dresses, tuxes, kid’s formal clothes, jewelry, veils, flowers, flower baskets, and even shoes! With alteration options as well if you desire!
Meet Jeanay, the owner of Modest Gown Rental – http://www.modestgownrental.com/home.html
I’d also like to introduce her lovely daughter. Which, small world by the way, is in my ward! When I first met her, I thought she looked familiar…didn’t go to the same high school…couldn’t figure out where I had seen her…saw her in church next week ha. I am usually out in the hall with my two toddlers and I work in the nursery so a lot of people don’t know me. PS #hairgoals
I went to meet Jeanay at her old place on Gilbert and Baseline which was a smaller, more office-like space with WALL to WALL dresses. No Joke. Like we could barely move through all her inventory! I was so excited to hear she was moving to a new space just up the street by Target. This woman has worked her booty off! She started 5 years ago out of her home. This event was to celebrate her 5 year anniversary and show off her new, bigger, beautiful space. Her first customer EVER dropped by too! Melted my heart.
She even brought a pom bouquet Jaenay had made for her! Instead of flowers, her wedding party, she had these cute pom poms for the bridesmaids to hold. Hers was all blinged out of course being the bride and all 🙂
My favorite part of this event as to see Jeanay’s family congratulate and rally around her. You know the saying it takes a village to raise a baby? It is even more true for our business babies! Truly her first customer’s were her daughters. So many family members were there to help setup and stayed for the whole event.
It really made me reflect on how much my own family has helped me. My father gave me my first cameras. I had a polariod by 4th grade and my first digital camera in 6th grade. In 7th grade he gave me my first digital camera. I also believe my “eye” for beautiful photos comes from him. He takes gorgeous landscapes and wildlife photos.
My grandpa got me my first film SLR when I started taking dark room courses in 7th grade and I used that throughout college, the shutter keeps getting stuck now though ha.
My aunt was my first portraits and family portraits while I was in High School. So lucky she let me experiment on her. Thank goodness for progress right! My sister-in-laws also let me take photos of them all the time. Thanks for being gorgeous!
I am also so grateful for my grandma and two aunts that like every single facebook post. Not to mention all the family on Instagram that like every single post <3
Lastly my husband, he saw from the start how much I loved photography. He has always encouraged me to stick with it. Although the business side of it has ebbed and flowed over the years, I always come back to it. Each time better at it than I was before.
Maybe not so little known fact-I will never turn down an opportunity to dress up. Especially in gorgeous bridal gowns 😀
Here are some more photos from the event. They gave away so many goodies-discounted and free rentals, tanning, salon visit, movie tickets, earrings, fabric lint rollers, sewing kits, and more. I had so much fun hanging out at the shop with these guys and gals. I love the layout of her shop. She has so much inventory and it is displayed so thoughtfully. Coordinated by size of course, but also color for the prom dresses. The bathroom doors have a cute larger than life woman and man to match her logo. There are luxurious chandeliers all over. The dressing rooms are so spacious. Mainly, I just love the layout, it was so well planned out by Jeanay. Her store is a great experience from start to finish.
Congrats on 5 years! If you would like a modest wedding dress be sure to check them out- here modestgown
